About me

About Me

In my past, I’ve been a painter, like in houses, sold music, worked in a bank, a marine – when I was shot by terrorists and winched from the jungle to safety – and I've been a retailer. These days, most of my time is spent writing. I write because I like it, and hope what’s published will please and find empathy with my readers.

I’ve written thirteen books and some short stories. At first, I wrote crime thrillers – my first six books – until I thought I was done with crime and wanted to write about people and how they cope with life’s challenges.

My latest book, Revelations how a troubled man searching for his unknown father is reunited, by chance, with his old lover is now available .

Previously, I wrote Otto and Frankie,  a novel about a dying man and his estranged daughter.

More about my books.

When I’m not writing I look after our garden, cook, and spend time with friends and family. I enjoy music, movies, and the theatre. I read a lot, and watch a little TV. I care for the environment and wildlife, and worry about man’s destruction of our planet and what will be left for future generations, hoping when we come to our senses, it won’t be too late. I’m grateful I have a loving family, a roof over my head, food, water, heating, plenty to read, and access to films and TV. Many in the world have nothing and live in appaling hardship.

Despite the weird and scary times we live in, I remain an optimist, a progressive, and have confidence in our ability to strive for and achieve a better world. It’s a hell of a lot improved from when I was born.

I live with my wife in West Sussex and have four adult children.

I wish you, your family, and your friends well and thank you for visiting this site.

My thanks to Harvey Waller for my photo.
